BLUEGILL MEGAHEAD
The Bluegill Megahead is a large fly using a custom handpainted head by our friends, Dropjaw Flies. We crafted this fly to closely resemble the bluegill, however if you prefer another species of sunfish or panfish, let us know and we will make it for you. This fly comes in around 5.5" long and 2.5" tall, it weighs around ??oz. Its body is made with articulation spines, with 6/0 Ahrex front hook and a size 8 trailer hook. We add a large tungsten scud weight and glass rattle on the main hook shaft to help it sink and swim. We custom paint the body to match the fish. These are a large fly and I have thrown them with an 8wt, however a 10wt would do a better job.
